Spring is not merely a season: it is transformation, rebirth and imagination. In this spirit, Fornasetti presents its latest novelties, objects that tell stories and rooms that become theatrical settings, within its Milanese store on Via Senato, recently redesigned by the international studio Tutto Bene.
The presentation opens with a new series of porcelain and ceramic vases. Each vase forms a small world of its own: owls observe with curious eyes, octopuses intertwine in surreal arabesques, and serpents unwind, symbolising transformation, while butterflies seem to land on surfaces. The human and animal dimensions merge, evoking the theme of spring and the sense of renewal that accompanies the season.
The same imaginative universe also takes shape in the new candles, unique collector’s pieces unveiled during Milano Design Week. Crafted in hand-decorated porcelain and enhanced by a gold base, they feature Fornasetti’s Fragranza Immaginazione. Three new motifs are introduced: civette (owls), poised with grace and embodying the Atelier’s nocturnal and fantastical vision; playful sardine (sardines) gliding across the porcelain, celebrating the marine irony of the Fornasetti imagination; and the polipo (octopus), rendered with refined detail, transforming the candle into a study in fluid elegance.
On the second floor of the store, the new Palladiana e Arlecchini cabinet-bar interprets the concept of domestic entertainment, balancing conviviality and theatricality. Never realised before, this piece becomes a stage for everyday life, welcoming drinks, objects and stories in a playful interplay of function and imagination. Alongside the cabinet-bar, a raised side cabinet, a stipo and a console engage in a visual dialogue, each adorned with architectural motifs, owls or hands holding keys and locks, symbols of mystery and curiosity.
Ornament and content dance together: every surface becomes an occasion for discovery, every object an invitation to personal storytelling. The act of observing and choosing becomes a creative experience, where the everyday is elevated, and the home itself becomes a theatre of imagination. On the ground floor, the new vases host floral compositions created by the Australian floral artist Simone Gooch, founder of Fjura and a master in crafting unexpected harmonies. Nature enters the domestic space with lightness, recreating the magic of spring within an environment suspended between the real and the dreamlike.
On the occasion of Milano Design Week, the Milanese Atelier also presents a collaboration with cc-tapis: a selection of motifs drawn from the Fornasetti archive is reinterpreted in a project that brings together art, irony and artisanal savoir-faire. The collection emerges from the fusion of two emblematic brands in Italian design, giving rise to textile surfaces that transform the Atelier’s iconic motifs into contemporary domestic landscapes. Three rugs will be showcased within the Fornasetti store.
Each new piece invites visitors to imagine their own space: rooms, objects, patterns and decorations become instruments of play and creativity, capable of transforming the everyday into an aesthetic and poetic experience.
