Comfort, innovation and material research have long defined Zanotta’s approach to upholstered furniture. More than simply furnishing a space, its sofas are conceived as evolving systems designed to adapt over time, balancing aesthetic quality, wellbeing and environmental responsibility.
This vision now takes shape in the latest evolution of two of the brand’s most distinctive collections: Fedrigo by Vincent Van Duysen and Pianoalto+ by Palomba Serafini Associati. United by the introduction of new curved modules and enhanced with CIRCULARREFOAM® padding, both projects explore a softer, more fluid relationship with space while advancing Zanotta’s ongoing commitment to sustainable design.
For the second consecutive year, Zanotta continues its dialogue with Vincent Van Duysen, expanding the Fedrigo collection through solutions that represent its natural evolution. New curved modules and asymmetric terminal elements enrich the modular system, allowing more fluid compositions capable of adapting to different architectural contexts and lifestyles.
The qualities that have made Fedrigo instantly recognisable remain unchanged: the seamless flow between backrest and armrests, generous proportions and a visual lightness that softens the sofa’s substantial presence. It is a comfort that can be perceived even before sitting down.
Sustainability is embedded in the project’s construction. Fedrigo is built around a plywood frame and features armrest, backrest and seat padding in graduated CIRCULARREFOAM® polyurethane, incorporating recycled-content materials. Designed for disassembly, the sofa is assembled without adhesives, enabling its components to be easily separated and recycled at the end of their lifecycle, while the fabric cover is fully removable.
The result reflects Zanotta’s ongoing investment in innovative materials and responsible manufacturing processes aimed at reducing environmental impact without compromising comfort or durability.
The language of the curve also shapes the latest evolution of Pianoalto+, designed by Palomba Serafini Associati. A bestseller since its launch, the project was conceived as an open and adaptable platform: a modular system designed to evolve over time, expanding from a clear conceptual foundation through new elements and configurations.
Its enduring success lies precisely in this flexibility. Over the years, Pianoalto+ has continuously explored new ways of inhabiting space, first through peninsula modules that softened traditional orthogonal layouts and now through the introduction of curved elements that dissolve the corner. These new modules expand the system’s compositional freedom, creating more fluid arrangements and a more natural dialogue with the surrounding environment.
At the same time, the introduction of graduated CIRCULARREFOAM® polyurethane padding in the seat and backrest further enhances comfort while reinforcing Zanotta’s commitment to responsible material innovation. The sofa is supported by a wooden frame with elastic strip suspension and graphite-painted steel feet, while removable fabric or leather covers ensure durability and ease of maintenance.
Presented at Milan Design Week 2026, the new compositions bring Pianoalto+ closer to the idea of upholstery as a protective and welcoming landscape. In its most enveloping configurations, the system becomes a place for retreat and connection, offering a sense of intimacy within the domestic environment.
Distinctive in character yet remarkably versatile, Pianoalto+ continues to adapt to a wide variety of interior settings, balancing comfort, aesthetic refinement and sustainability through a design language that remains both contemporary and enduring.
Though distinct in authorship and character, Fedrigo and Pianoalto+ share a common direction: the curve as a contemporary design language and sustainability as an integral part of the creative process. Together, they reaffirm Zanotta’s vision of the sofa not as a static object, but as an ongoing field of research where innovation, comfort and environmental responsibility evolve side by side.
